Detailed description Cyclovans® 100 mg/ml Oral solution for dogs and cats Composition: Cyclosporine—100 mg, yellowish clear solution. Indication: Treatment of chronic and recurrent forms of atopic dermatitis in dogs. Cyclosporine reduces inflammation and itching associated with atopic dermatitis in dogs. Symptomatic treatment of chronic manifestations of allergic dermatitis in cats. Target species: dogs and cats. Usage and dosage method: The drug is taken orally, once a day at the beginning of treatment. The frequency of subsequent administration depends on the clinical results. Clinical improvement is achieved within 4 to 8 weeks, and if no result is achieved during this time, treatment should be discontinued. The decision on the continuation of treatment and the regimen is made by the veterinarian, taking into account the clinical picture. To maintain the achieved remission, the drug should be used as rarely as possible. The animal's weight should be accurately determined before administration. Place the syringe directly into the dog's mouth. The product can be taken by mixing it with food or by taking it directly into the mouth. Depending on the size of the animal, a 1 ml syringe (divided into 0.05 ml units) or a 2 ml syringe (divided into 0.1 ml units) may be used to administer the doses indicated in the table above. Side effects: Dogs: The most commonly reported adverse reactions are gastrointestinal disturbances: vomiting, loose or mucous stools and diarrhoea. Mild and transient salivation. Rare: lethargy or hyperactivity, anorexia (loss of appetite), benign and moderate gingival hyperplasia (swollen gums), skin reactions such as papillomas or changes in fur, swelling and redness of the auricle (visible part of the ear), weakness or muscle spasms. These side effects disappear spontaneously upon completion of treatment. Cats: Very common: Gastrointestinal disorders - vomiting and diarrhoea, weight loss. Common: Lethargy, anorexia, hypersalivation, hyperactivity, polydipsia, gingival hyperplasia and lymphopenia. These adverse reactions generally resolve spontaneously after discontinuation of treatment or reduction in the frequency of administration. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. History of malignant or progressive malignant diseases, pregnancy and lactation, dogs less than 6 months of age or weighing less than 2 kg. Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) or feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Special precautions(s): Dogs: Monitor creatinine in dogs with severe renal failure. Cats: Liver monitoring. If gradual and persistent weight loss is observed during treatment, it is recommended to discontinue treatment until the cause is determined. In case of overdose In dogs: hyperkeratosis, especially of the auricle, crusty lesions on the feet, weight loss or decreased weight gain, hypertrichosis, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, decreased eosinophil count. The frequency and severity of these signs depend on the dose. These signs are reversible within 2 months of discontinuation of treatment. In cats: transient increase in lymphocyte count, anorexia, recumbent position, loss of skin elasticity, reduced or absent stool, thin and closed eyelids. Should not be mixed with other veterinary drugs. Storage conditions: . Store in original packaging. 15°C to 25°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. Shelf life: Shelf life after first opening the primary packaging: 6 months.
